Natural pigment extraction

Natural food pigments generally have poor stability and are sensitive to light, heat, enzymes, and bacteria. To maintain its naturalness and stability, the preparation method of natural edible pigments generally adopts physical methods.

The natural pigment membrane separation and concentration equipment is designed using an integrated machine of ultrafiltration and nanofiltration. The ultrafiltration equipment is used for product clarification and purification, filtering out large molecular impurities such as tannins, cellulose, proteins, colloids, etc. in the extract. The nanofiltration equipment is the main concentration equipment for the product, filtering out excess solvent components, metal ions, and other salts, achieving efficient concentration.

Natural pigment membrane separation and concentration process: natural pigment extraction liquid → pretreatment → membrane separation clarification → membrane concentration and solvent removal → subsequent process extraction liquid is pretreated to remove some solid impurities (commonly used plate and frame filtration/centrifugation, etc.), and then filtered through the membrane to remove soluble macromolecular impurities, completely achieving the clarification of pigment material liquid and the removal of odor and other components in the pigment; Then it enters the concentration membrane to intercept pigments, allowing ash and other small molecule impurities to pass through, achieving the dual purpose of concentration dehydration and impurity removal. Natural pigment film clarification technology

Ultrafiltration is used for the clarification of natural pigments, replacing traditional clarification methods. It can effectively intercept large molecule suspensions and proteins, allowing the clarified pigment extract to permeate through the membrane and enter the permeate side. For some pigment varieties, ultrafiltration can increase efficiency by about three times.

2、 Natural pigment film concentration technology

Membrane concentration is commonly used for the concentration/dehydration of natural pigments at room temperature. It is usually used in conjunction with or instead of an evaporator. During filtration, water and some small molecule impurities (such as kumquat in red yeast) pass through the membrane, and the pigment components are intercepted and concentrated, achieving the concentration of pigments while removing small molecule impurities and improving product quality.

Advantages of natural pigment extraction membrane filtration and concentration process: 1. High filtration accuracy, completely removing impurities such as macromolecular proteins, tannins, starch, plant fibers, etc. from natural pigments; 2. The maintenance cost of the membrane in the membrane process is low, requiring only regular online cleaning and maintenance. Compared with the cost of producing products through thermal concentration, it is only 1/5. greatly saving the production cost of the enterprise; Compared to traditional modes of acid-base precipitation or other coagulation precipitation, membrane separation and concentration equipment is a room temperature separation without adding any chemical agents, which reduces the cost of chemical agents and preserves product purity as much as possible; 4. Membrane filtration separation equipment is a room temperature filtration method that does not damage thermosensitive substances and improves product yield;
