Application of Ceramic Membrane Equipment in Titanium Dioxide Production
In the process of producing nanoscale ultrafine titanium dioxide by wet chemical methods (sulfuric acid method, chlorination method, hydrochloric acid method), it is necessary to wash the titanium dioxide slurry rich in impurity ions to improve the purity of the titanium dioxide. Unlike traditional plate and frame filtration and centrifugal separation, ceramic membranes mainly use cross flow filtration in solid-liquid separation.

Under pressure and high flow rate, the titanium dioxide slurry continuously circulates on the circulation side, and the membrane surface can trap titanium dioxide particles while allowing impurity ions in the solution to permeate through the membrane pores. Due to the continuous flushing of the membrane surface by the feed solution, material accumulation is not formed, which greatly reduces the filtration resistance. Therefore, a high permeation flux can be maintained at lower pressures, allowing the filtration operation to be carried out continuously for a relatively long time.
