Pectin extraction membrane separation technology
Pectin is a type of high molecular weight polysaccharide compound that exists in plant cell walls. It is an important additive in the food industry, used as a gelling agent, thickener, and stabilizer. Anhui Shengchuan Membrane Separation Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully applied membrane separation technology to the purification process of pectin based on its industry advantages and extensive practical experience. The designed and manufactured pectin membrane filtration equipment can be widely used in the production of pectin such as orange peel, lemon peel, grapefruit peel, banana peel, apple peel, etc.
Disadvantages of traditional pectin extraction:
The commonly used refining method in pectin production is alcohol precipitation, and the commonly used concentration methods are multi effect concentration, vacuum concentration under reduced pressure, etc. In traditional production processes, due to the large amount of extraction liquid, a large amount of steam is required during the concentration process, resulting in high production costs for enterprises. Meanwhile, due to the absence of impurity removal during the thermal concentration process, impurities, especially small molecule impurities and inorganic salts, in the extraction solution may increase, thereby affecting the quality of the product. During the alcohol precipitation process, the extraction solution contains a large amount of impurities, resulting in high impurity content in ethanol and significant heat recovery losses.
Pectin extraction process:
Pectin extract → Plate frame coarse filtration → Pre treatment fine filtration → Ultrafiltration membrane filtration → Precipitation → Subsequent processes
Advantages of pectin extraction and refining membrane filtration technology:
1. Pre treat and filter to remove fine fruit residue from the pectin extract, and ensure that the extract meets the requirements for membrane penetration;
2. High membrane filtration accuracy, removing small molecule impurities and inorganic salts, achieving purification, impurity removal, and concentration of pectin;
3. Pure physical, room temperature filtration, low energy consumption;
4. Cross flow operation process design can solve pollution blockage without adding filter aids;
5. The membrane filtration equipment adopts advanced modular design, with easy replacement of filter materials and simple operation;
6. Select 304 or 316L stainless steel sanitary materials that comply with QS sanitary standards.
7. High degree of automation, using PLC and frequency converter control, simple and convenient operation;
8. Using imported membrane components, it has a long service life and does not require frequent replacement.
