Membrane separation technology for chlor alkali industry

What is an inorganic membrane saltwater refining solution?

The inorganic membrane brine refining solution (CBS process) is a mature process that can ensure stable and reliable brine for you in the long term, and is an advanced process choice for chlor alkali enterprises. It utilizes the characteristics of inorganic membranes and materials, and adopts a cross flow filtration method, making its application in the brine refining process more effective and advantageous than other refining and filtration technologies.

The CBS process can also be used for brine vacuum salt production, and the quality of the solid salt produced is higher than that of clarified process products. It can be used as high-quality edible salt or chlor alkali salt.

Process Introduction

What are the advantages of inorganic membrane brine refining (CBS process)?

Short process

Compared with traditional processes, carbon tube filters without Doyle settling buckets, sand filters, and cellulose pre coating eliminate the workload of cleaning and pre coating, while avoiding secondary pollution of silicon. Compared with organic polymer membranes, there is no pre-treatment system, which eliminates the process and equipment of pressurized gas dissolution and floating clarification, and also eliminates the addition of corrosive and harmful chemicals such as ferric chloride, reducing the corrosion hazards of system equipment and pipelines, and completely avoiding secondary pollution of saltwater.

LONG SERVICE LIFE

High quality and high-strength inorganic ceramic tubular membrane, not affected by acids, alkalis, oxidants, etc., can work and filter for a long time under a working pressure of 1MPa, without membrane surface peeling, tearing, corrosion, pore size stretching and other phenomena of polymer membrane, with a long service life of more than five years. The filtering aperture is less than 50nm, and the simple screening principle can make the SS of the filtered saltwater less than 0.5ppm, greatly reducing the load on the chelating resin tower and the pollution of the ion membrane.

anti-fouling

Adapt to high magnesium raw salts. Inorganic membranes have excellent anti pollution ability and adopt cross flow filtration method to operate filtration under high concentration pollutants (5-10%). They are fully suitable for high magnesium and high organic matter raw materials, eliminating the deficiency of filter membranes in terminal filtration processes that are not resistant to high magnesium and organic matter in raw salt, reducing the quality requirements for raw salt, and expanding the range of salt selection.

Small footprint

Due to its short process, few equipment, and simple process control and operation, the device's footprint and building area can be greatly reduced compared to other one-time saltwater technologies. A new 200000 ton saltwater plant with two floors and dimensions of 9m × 20m will be built. The total footprint of the saltwater section can be reduced by 40-50%. This technology is easy to integrate with traditional processes and is particularly suitable for old equipment renovation projects, making implementation very convenient.
